Résumé
Navy senior enlisted leader, E-6, 24 years, serving as IT systems technician and security manager liaison. Looking for identity and access management work, and the risk and compliance work past it.
I own network access administration and personnel security tracking for a 35 to 40 person organization: SAAR-N authorization requests, clearance tracking, file-share permissions, and PII handling. I'm also carrying a 32-workstation migration to the Navy's Nautilus environment as the command's sole IT resource, one workstation a day, phased around a live performance schedule. That sits on hands-on Linux administration, a home pentesting lab, and a Python log-analysis tool built from scratch. Active Secret clearance: Tier 3R investigation adjudicated January 2023, Continuous Evaluation since January 2025. My Navy career ends June 30, 2027, and I'm available from late February 2027 through SkillBridge.

Experience
IT systems technician and security manager liaison
- Designated NMCI telecommunications officer and security manager liaison, sole point of contact for network access, endpoint support, and personnel security administration for a 35 to 40 person command.
- Own the unit's ongoing migration of 32 enterprise workstations to the Navy's Nautilus environment as the command's sole IT resource: 15 were converted before the role transferred to me, and the remaining 17 are mine to carry through cutover.
- Diagnosed the constraint that had stalled the migration (the absence of scanning capability on converted systems) and resumed the conversion path once a deployed printer update restored it.
- Sequenced the remaining conversions at one workstation per day, phasing cutover around a live performance schedule that takes operational priority so no rehearsal or performance commitment is disrupted. Coordinate authorization directly with Navy Music IT and the command's department head.
- Review SAAR-N system authorization requests for completeness, accuracy, and correct access level; submit and track MAC actions through NMCI to completion.
- Submit and track SharePoint and file-share permission requests provisioned by rank and collateral duty, verifying need-to-know before routing. Least privilege in practice.
- Submit account dormancy requests and Nautilus principal-user change requests; process All-Hands distribution list modifications as the command population changes.
- Track command-wide security clearance expirations and maintain personnel rosters; screen access packages against clearance status and route to the NSTC security manager for SF-86 adjudication.
- Handle and safeguard PII including SSNs throughout the access-request lifecycle in accordance with the Privacy Act.
- Serve as the command's on-site IT point of contact: first-line intake, triage, and escalation of end-user issues, opening and tracking enterprise service tickets to resolution.
- Maintain the enterprise computer inventory of record and facilitate the annual laptop refresh; performed OS updates on 9 NMCI assets and provisioned 9 peripherals.
- Train incoming command members on Navy enterprise IT systems: account use, access request procedures, and the security expectations attached to them.
Operations coordinator
- Recalled on short notice to run the operations department for a 40-person organization across an 11-state area: processed 128 requests into 111 executed missions in five months.
- Absorbed a complete migration of the command's operations software mid-assignment: rebuilt the engagement contact database from scratch in the new platform and mined the legacy system for historical records the new platform couldn't carry forward, with no break in the reporting cadence through cutover.
- Authored 45 recurring reports per year to Navy leadership (SECNAV weekly, outreach, Echelon-2 monthly), maintaining executive visibility of unit activity.
- Designed and delivered technical and professional training to groups of 30 or more, one of eight years of formal instruction across the career.
Command pay and personnel administrator
- Ran pay, personnel, and travel records administration for a 45-member activity outside own specialty; processed 140 system transactions and 21 gain/loss packages with sustained accuracy in a records system holding PII for every member.
- Earned the A16A command pay and personnel administrator classification; Sailor of the Quarter, 3rd Qtr FY21.
Earlier U.S. Navy assignments

Naval Service Training Command Sailor of the Year, FY19. Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. 6 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. Good Conduct Medal (7).
Projects
ssh-detect-respond
Parses SSH authentication logs into structured events (timestamp, source IP, username, outcome) and tails live files, surviving log rotation and in-place truncation. That is the failure mode where a naive monitor goes silently blind while still looking healthy. It is the log-ingestion layer underneath brute-force detection tools like fail2ban and CrowdSec. The pytest suite covers parsing, rotation, and truncation.
Home pentesting lab
Kali Linux attacker VM against Metasploitable 2, Windows 7, and Windows 10 targets. Enumeration, exploitation, and post-exploitation practice.
